But they were just a part of a hilariously cruel prank late-night host Jimmy Kimmel asked parents to play on their unsuspecting children: give your children horrible gifts and post their reactions on YouTube for fun.
Kimmel’s idea was a follow-up to his wildly successful Halloween challenge where parents told their kids they had eaten all of their hard-earned Halloween candy.

Tantrums and tears ensued, and in his presents hoax, the formula proved successful once again, giving the Jimmy Kimmel Live show another viral YouTube video.

Some children handled the news about their lump-of-coal gifts with grace.

When one little girl got a sandwich, she told mom while she appreciates the gift and she loves her cooking, she didn’t know the gift would be like…”that”.

Other children didn’t take the news so well, throwing their gifts on the floor and even at their parents.

One kid told mom she didn’t do a very good job and another yelled about his “stupid” “stinking” parents.

Kimmel's collective reaction video of the kids was posted on YouTube December 12, and its gotten 4,024,602 votes, making it the most viewed video as of Friday morning.

The internet is abuzz about a new wonder-kid footballing talent in Japan – the trouble is nobody knows who he is!
A video of a “nine-year-old Japanese Messi” has gone viral, as people around the world are dazzled by this new talent who seems to be able to just skip around players with ease.
However as yet no details have emerged about who the young chap is or what team he plays for.
Watching the video though, you can see why the player is being compared to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi as he shows amazing close control to dribble past opponents in a similar fashion to the pint-sized Argentine.
He has already attracted the attention of Messi's former coach at the Barcelona youth team - Francisco Javier García Pimienta – who posted a link to the video on his Twitter feed.
